What is Clean Eating?

Clean eating to Dani B is a lifestyle based on the idea of eating healthy foods and enjoying lower calorie versions of some of your favorite foods. It’s all about quality over quantity. Clean eating focuses on consuming foods at their closest natural state and foods that are beneficial to your body’s health and function. Instead of consuming pre-packaged, processed, calorie filled junk food or fast food. This means eating fresh fruits, vegetables, healthy carbohydrates, dietary fiber, healthy proteins and replacing saturated fats with healthy fats. All of this while still eating some of your favorite varieties of foods. Clean eating is practiced by bodybuilders, athletes and health-conscious people that choose a healthier and more energetic lifestyle. Clean eating is a safe and healthy way to “diet”, lose weight and keep the weight off.

What is so great about this way of eating is that it can easily become a lifestyle! With this lifestyle you will never skip meal. In fact, it is encouraged that you eat 5-6 small meals per day. This is why I have thoroughly researched and cooked every single recipe found in Dani B’s Clean Eats ebook series to come up with the best tasting, quality and low calorie dishes for everyone to enjoy.

This is the first volume of many cookbooks scheduled to release (Volume 2 is already in the works). Let me start by saying that I have cravings just like anyone else. What I have a passion for is making healthy and lower calorie versions of those yummy foods we all hate to love. Volume 1 is a hodgepodge of thirty-one of my oldest but favorite recipes to date. I didn't want to focus only on breakast, snacks, sides, main dishes, etc. I wanted to give you an assortment of recipes of each genre. I hope you enjoy these delicious recipes as much as I do!

This is a great addition to Volume 1. It's so much easier to eat healthy when you don't get bored having the same ol' foods over and over. Volume 2 will have my normal mixture of genres (breakfast,snacks, lunch, dinner, etc), PLUS a crockpot recipes for those weeks when you seem to have no extra time.

Everyone has cravings. Some people crave junk food, some crave hearty meals, some crave mexican food, sweets, italian... and the list goes on. My goal with my collection of recipe ebooks is to give everyone a healthier and lower calorie version of their favorite foods. Happy cookingfriends!

About the Author, Dani B

My healthy lifestyle journey started about 10 years ago. I moved to New Orleans to live closer to my sister and nephew. I began bartending on Bourbon Street to put myself through hair school. Between the long hours, junk bar food, no exercising and my love for margaritas and cosmopolitans...I gained 35 lbs. Although that may not seem like a ton of weight, I gained it all in my belly. I was always tired, I had no energy and I hated how I looked. It was even beginning to affect my attitude towards other people because I just didn't feel good and was very unhappy. I decided one day to go to the gym with a friend of mine. That's all it took and I was hooked. I began working out regularly, eating better and feeling great!

I moved back to Alabama in 2008. In 2010, I competed in my first NPC Bodybuilding Competition in the bikini division. Then I continued to compete in 2011-2014. Even though I have decided to take some time off from competing at this point in my life, I will continue my healthy lifestyle. I've had lots of people over the years ask me for recipe ideas or ask me what I eat. I decided to change my focus to helping people through my passion for healthy cooking. I've always loved experimenting in the kitchen, so I'm excited to share some of my "experiments" with other people. Dani B's Clean Eats is a collection of some of my favorite recipes to date.
